Black against white, and the line between them dead straight.

A lot of the new homes going up around Western Sydney are finished in two colours: white render with charcoal or black panels framing the garage, the balcony or the upper floor.

That look only works when the edges are sharp and the coat is even, because every wobble shows against the contrast. The facade in the photo is one of ours.

The finish is in the sill.

Stand at a window and look down. The sill is where a render job shows whether anyone took their time: a clean edge against the frame and an even sand texture from one end to the other.
